PX4 X500
The PX4 ecosystem's reference quadcopter kit: a 500 mm X-frame, four 2216 920KV motors, a power-distribution board and a Pixhawk flight controller. RobotForge flies this exact airframe as the PX4 Gazebo model (x500), so its geometry here is read straight out of the model's own files.
Spec
| Battery | 4S LiPo 14.8 V, 5000 mAh (Holybro recommends 3000–5000 mAh) |
|---|---|
| Flight controller | Pixhawk, powered via PM02 power module |
| Frame | X500 quadcopter frame, 500 mm wheelbase class (Holybro) |
| Mass | 2.064 kg — sum of the Gazebo model's link masses (base_link 2.0 kg + 4 rotors) |
| Motor-to-motor | 0.348 × 0.348 m (0.492 m diagonal) — rotor positions in the PX4 Gazebo model |
| Motors | 4× 2216 920KV brushless, BLHeli S 20A ESCs (Holybro kit) |
| Power | Power-distribution board documented: XT60 in, XT30 out |
| Propellers | 0.279 m in the Gazebo model (the physical kit ships 1045 props) |
examples/px4-x500.jsonGeometry, height and link masses from the PX4 Gazebo model x500_base/model.sdf (rotor poses ±0.174 m, base_link pose z 0.24 m, link masses 2.0 kg + 4× 0.0160769 kg). Kit hardware (motors, ESCs, PDB wiring pattern, battery recommendation) from Holybro's official X500 V2 product page. The Gazebo model's propeller (0.279 m) differs from the physical kit's 1045 props; the model's value is what the spec carries, and the difference is stated in the key specs.Gate runs
The motion gate covers ground robots today. This class has no gate yet, so there is no verdict to show — the note below says why, in the entry's own words.
No recorded gate runs yet. This robot has no verdict until one is measured.
Harness checks
Electrical computations over this robot's documented wiring graph — voltage drop, ampacity, logic levels, rail budgets, connector matching. Not a gate run and not a simulation: each check is Checked, Partial or Not checked, and the headline is counts, never a blanket pass.
2 checked clean · 0 with warnings · 0 with errors · 0 partial · 15 not checked · missing data: cable.gauge_awg ×8, current_a for motors ×7, current_a for fc ×5
| Check | Checked | Partial | Not checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| voltage drop | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| ampacity | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| logic levels | 0 | 0 | 1 |
| rail budget | 0 | 0 | 3 |
| connector match | 2 | 0 | 3 |
Findings: none — the inputs that could be checked raised nothing. That is not the same as everything being checked; the counts above say how much was.
Missing data — the datasheets still to hunt. A check that could not run says what it needs:
| Missing input | Blocks | Needed by |
|---|---|---|
cable.gauge_awg | 8 | battery -> pdb, pdb -> esc, esc -> motors, pdb -> fc |
current_a for motors | 7 | battery -> pdb, pdb -> esc, esc -> motors, esc rail |
current_a for fc | 5 | battery -> pdb, pdb -> fc, pdb rail |
cable.length_mm | 3 | battery -> pdb, pdb -> esc, esc -> motors |
connector at both ends (connector_from / connector_to) | 3 | esc -> motors, pdb -> fc, fc -> esc |
connection voltage (volts) | 2 | esc -> motors, pdb -> fc |
current_a for esc | 1 | pdb rail |
current_a for pdb | 1 | battery rail |
logic_v for esc | 1 | fc -> esc |
logic_v for fc | 1 | fc -> esc |
rated output current for battery | 1 | battery rail |
rated output current for esc | 1 | esc rail |
rated output current for pdb | 1 | pdb rail |

Take it apart
This viewer derives a schematic take-apart straight from the spec's numbers — the same one-derivation rule as the ground kits — flat views, or in 3D with the toggle. It is a schematic of the real robot's layout, not a printable kit: robotforge cad kits cover ground robots only today. Click any part.
